Ask anyone what travel locations are on their bucket list, and chances are they’ll tell you they were influenced by an article they read or photos they saw. My passion for exploring new places has taken me all over the world, as both a working journalist and a solo traveler. From a month-long solo trip around New Zealand, to exploring Aitutaki Atoll in the Cook Islands, to hiking and photographing the red rock canyons of the Southwest, I’ve learned how to truly experience an area, rather than just visiting the well-known tourist sites. I love sharing what I’ve learned with other travelers through my writing and photos.
My travel writing and photography have been published in magazines including AAA Midwest Traveler, EARTH Magazine, Boca Raton Magazine, and Our State: Celebrating North Carolina. I’m also the author of a full-color hiking/geology guidebook, Utah Canyon Country: 20 Must-See Sites and Short Hikes, which won the gold medal in the 2019 Independent Publisher Awards, Mountain West Nonfiction category (book currently sold out).

This author has done a great job of research regarding the stories and history relevant to these places, and that’s what sets this book far above others written about the Canyonlands.
